テーマは、海外から見た「KAMIKAZE／特攻隊」
全3回の取材のうち、今日は第1回目ということで、特攻財団の活動紹介や、祖父との関わり、自分自身の思いついてお話ししました。
ただ考え込む質問も多くて。
特攻隊の歴史認識、「カミカゼ」という言葉の海外での使われ方、若者と戦争観など、改めて自分の中で深く考えることに。
私がお伝えしたかったのは、
「戦没者の数は、単なる数字ではない。その一人ひとりに人生があり、家族があったこと」
「慰霊を、過去に手を合わせることだけで終わらせず、未来への責任として考えたいこと」
「戦没者に対する最大の慰霊は、二度と戦争を起こさないこと」
そこは話せたかと。
あと2回、しっかり向き合っていかねば。
I was interviewed by the French international news channel France 24.
The theme was “KAMIKAZE / Special Attack Corps” as seen from overseas.
This was the first of three interviews. I spoke about the activities of our foundation, my connection to my grandfather, and my own thoughts on remembrance and history.
Some of the questions made me think deeply.
How the history of the Special Attack Corps is understood, how the word “Kamikaze” is used overseas, and how younger generations view war — these are all issues I found myself reflecting on again.
What I most wanted to convey was this:
The number of war dead is not just a number. Each person had a life, and each person had a family.
Remembrance should not end with simply praying for the past. It should also be considered as a responsibility for the future.
The greatest act of remembrance for those who died in war is to never allow war to happen again.
I believe I was able to say that.
There are still two more interviews to go, and I want to face them sincerely.
