Race completed.

In the World Aquatics Masters Championships Singapore 2025, I finished 33rd in the 100m freestyle. I had been ranked 37th at entry, so I managed to move up a little.

Due to nerve damage in both legs from cancer treatment, I needed help from an official to get onto the starting block.

During chemotherapy.
Second from the front… way late on the start

I steadied my wobbly legs to avoid being disqualified. The start was a bit late, but…

The moment I began swimming, I thought, “No way I’m losing to the swimmers in the lanes next to me.

My fighting spirit flared up, and I caught up and overtook them!!Yes!

Race done. Game over.

We encouraged each other, laughed together, and gave our all—regardless of age or nationality.

I’m so glad I took on this challenge.

I never knew I had this much fighting spirit inside me.

Next stop: Budapest!
